Attention Parents!!!
During our last Summers On Asaph's Lawn event this Thursday, September 2nd beginning at 6:30 PM, New York Life will sponsor a free Child Identification Protection service for all of our children.
Representatives from New York Life will be onsite in the Parish Hall to create identification cards. ID cards will include a photo, digital fingerprints and other important information. Parents are urged to carry these cards in their wallets in the event their children are abducted or lost.
Again, this FREE program is family friendly and fun. Children are fingerprinted and photographed and ID cards are given directly to the parents. In case of emergency this enables you to have in an easy to find kit, your child's photo, fingerprints, and other important information needed by the police. So please, take advantage of this wonderful FREE opportunity.
As usual, hot dogs will be provided, (feel free to bring salads, etc. if you like), along with the popcorn and a movie. Feel free to bring salads if you like.

The Adult Formation classes at St. Asaph's meet on Sunday morning at 9 AM between the 8 and 9 O'clock services. We like to start on time. The plan is to have three offerings on Sunday morning for you to choose. One of these sessions is a review of the Gospel of the day. We read the Gospel and relate it to our lives and our community. The first offerings for the fall are not quite ready to be announced yet - but look here and you will see what we have to offer.
Please contact Steve Lindsay if you have comments or discussions about these sessions.

Feed the Hungry. Grow Our Garden
Last year from a very small plot, we easily harvested bushels of tomatoes and green beans for Philabundance. We also had a few eggplants and peppers. This year Philabundance needs us to help feed more and more of our hungry neighbors and we are planning to expand our space and to grow more crops. You can join us to help dig, plant, mulch or to get on the watering and harvesting schedule.
Both master gardeners and total beginners are very
welcome. Watch the bulletin and E Message for dates. Speak to Margaret Hunting or Wendy Flegal for more
information.
ELDERNET of Lower Merion and Narberth
Hunger knows no boundaries. Eldernet of Lower
Merion and Narberth provides a range of services to
those in need living within Lower Merion Township. Now
that the holidays are over, their food cupboard is bare.
On the first and third Sundays, we will collect
nonperishable foods, paper products, cleaning supplies
and other dry goods not covered by food stamps to help
stock the Eldernet food cupboard, located in the white
building that shares the parking lot with Ludington
Library. Jane Carton, Nicky Garvan and Connie
Stelzenmuller will make the deliveries.
Storytime at Just Children
We continue to read stories to Just Children's Head
Start children on Wednesday mornings at 9:30 am.
Carolyn Ramsey, Carolyn Langfitt, Anne Speyer,
Laura Breenan and Kathy Hubbard are presently
reading. Do you have time to be a story teller?
Contact Anne Speyer.
Food Cupboard Donations
Regarding food cupboard donations, (for ElderNet, North Light, etc.), some suggested items that we are currently in need of are cereal, rice, canned fruit, canned fish/meat, peanut butter and jellies.
"Provide-a-Ride"
Provide-a-Ride is in need of one or two more drivers to assist in driving members to church who otherwise would be unable to attend. This is a very flexible commitment involving 30 - 45 minutes of your time once a month. While you would be committed to a particular Sunday morning for driving, i.e. 3rd Sunday of each month, drivers "trade" Sundays as they need to, and alternates are available. The current riders are very prompt and very grateful, and live within 5 minutes of each other, so the driving time is minimal. If you feel able to participate in this project, please contact by email Sally Pearne or 215-848-4014. (It should also be noted there are no committee meetings for this service opportunity!)
